There is something about buying new running clothes that
terrifies me. I run six days a week and wear the same (washed every night)
thing each time. Umbro soccer shorts I’ve had since high school and an Old Navy
tank top I bought when I brought Mini-Li home from the hospital as a newborn. What
is my deal? Shoes, now that is a different story. I know better and had the
fine folks at Trak Shak hook me up with the perfect pair of shoes. No back,
leg, knee, ankle, etc. injuries from the wrong pair of runners on these feet!
But, running clothes intimidate me. Wicking this – cotton that – no cotton
here - NASA approved space age there. And, they can be wicked expensive, especially if what you buy turns out
to be uncomfortable. Like the shorts I bought to celebrate my first 5K.
Admittedly, I made a mistake never wearing them before the race...paid for
that for days!! So, I am accepting volunteers as a shopping companion to grab
some cooler weather gear. Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?

Ooooh oooooh I'm in....I don't know anything about appropriate running gear, because when I tried to be a runner...and still didn't like it....I bought my running clothes at Target.
ReplyDeleteI'm a target shopper for workout clothes too! Always some great deals!
ReplyDeleteI think you need a running skirt. They make you run faster! :-)
ReplyDeleteI just looked at your blog for the first time. You are becoming the running goddess of Vestavia, nay, Birmingham, nay, the World! :) Most I ever ran was 3 miles 4x a week, and that was when I was a fanatic. Do you listen to music while you run? I always had to to combat boredom and so I couldn't hear myself panting. Way to go, Kellet.
ReplyDeleteI just wear cheap athletic shorts and t-shirts.
ReplyDeleteAm I doing it wrong? ;)
Julie's right! A skirt is a "Kellet" kind of idea!! I have a really cute tie dyed cotton mini skirt just for you! It's sure to make running so much more fun!!
