Not so wordless Wednesday
I tried to get out and run this morning on the road where I live. It is a complete sheet of ice (no salt or sand trucks here). After a close call with a truck who was having a difficult time staying on the road, I called it for safety's sake and came back home.
There are so many people I know who are stuck where they were yesterday, or where they were able to get to last night. Families separated, children at schools without their parents, teachers who stayed to be with their students, co-workers at my office . . . what a 2 inch snowstorm!! Stay put. Stay warm. and above all, Stay Safe!!!

Things that make you run F A S T
I thought this morning it was going to be all about the weather. (21F at the end of my run FYI)
However, an exceptional time motivator and a way to cut your run short is a call from the alarm company! One mile into my run my phone rings - 6:42am and you know it must be important. I spin around and high tail it back to my car - record time I am sure! I met Officer John and we did a walk through of the house. Mr. May showed up less than 2 minutes later. Turns out it was a motion sensor in the room we call The Hanger. The Chinese New Year is Friday and we had decorated for MiniLi and MiniLu. The alarm triggering culprit? Our Dragon!

Back on Track
A while back my dear friend, JT, challenged me to run the Krispy Kreme Doughnut Dash with him. Well, folks - that is in less than two weeks (eleven days to be precise) so . . . time I best get my run back on track. The Challenger Division requires that you run two miles, stop, eat one dozen doughnuts (yes, 12 doughnuts) and then run an additional two miles. Race details include the following: "Those who register as a Challenger and eat all 12 doughnuts will pass through a special timing chute." I believe this is also known as the "please puke here" chute. I will be entering the race as a Casual Runner, I can not speak for JT.
